Painful loss and more injuries for the Dallas Cowboys/Yankees limp into a home play-in game

With football season going on, and the Yankees 1 win tomorrow from being in the post-season, I will be posting about sports often.  The Florida Gators beating the number 3 team in the nation is pretty big as well.

I’ll start with the walking wounded known as the Dallas Cowboys.  Just imagine a team losing their starting QB, best receiver, best corner, best linebacker(best overall defensive player as well)Starting defensive tackle, and an explosive back that’s really good at catching the ball out of the backfield.  Even Dez Bryant’s replacement can’t make it more than one big play before getting hurt. It’s getting to the point where they are going to need to get guys off the street to play.  So disappointing because I thought this team really had all the pieces to make a real run.  This injury list is incredible.  I got this off rotoinfo.com.

Lance Dunbar RB Sidelined Oct 4 knee surgery Out for season
Brice Butler WR Sidelined Oct 4 hamstring Status uncertain
Sean Lee LB Sidelined Oct 4 concussion Week to week
Jeremy Mincey DL Probable Oct 1 concussion Likely will play
Jason Witten TE Probable Sep 25 ankle Will play
Terrell McClain DL I.L. Sep 22 ankle Out for season
Tony Romo QB I.L. Sep 22 clavicle Return Week 11?
Ronald Leary G Probable Sep 22 groin Likely will play
James Hanna TE Sidelined Sep 19 knee Week to week
Randy Gregory DL Sidelined Sep 13 ankle Return Week 7?
Dez Bryant WR Sidelined Sep 9 foot Return Week 7?
Orlando Scandrick DB I.L. Sep 1 knee surgery Out for season
Lucky Whitehead WR Probable Jul 11 Will play
Chaz Green T PUP Jun 17 hip Return Week 8
Mark Nzeocha LB PUP May 8 knee surgery Return Week 8

It’s amazing this team is 2-2.  Also I’ve had enough of Weeden.  I know it’s not completely his fault, but there’s a reason he’s 5-18 as a starter.  I’d give Cassel a shot at this point.  Regardless of who the QB is , they will get trounced by the Patriots next week.

Saying the Yankees limped into this play-in game is an understatement.  They have played dreadful baseball to end the season.  They are lucky this game is in Yankee Stadium tomorrow.  Lets see what Tanaka is made of!

On a more serious note, I wish Sabathia good luck and a speedy recovery.  Got this statement from Deadspin.com.

“Today I am checking myself into an alcohol rehabilitation center to receive the professional care and assistance needed to treat my disease.

“I love baseball and I love my teammates like brothers, and I am also fully aware that I am leaving at a time when we should all be coming together for one last push toward the World Series. It hurts me deeply to do this now, but I owe it to myself and to my family to get myself right. I want to take control of my disease, and I want to be a better man, father and player.

“I want to thank the New York Yankees organization for their encouragement and understanding. Their support gives me great strength and has allowed me to move forward with this decision with a clear mind.

“As difficult as this decision is to share publicly, I don’t want to run and hide. But for now please respect my family’s need for privacy as we work through this challenge together.

“Being an adult means being accountable. Being a baseball player means that others look up to you. I want my kids — and others who may have become fans of mine over the years — to know that I am not too big of a man to ask for help. I want to hold my head up high, have a full heart and be the type of person again that I can be proud of. And that’s exactly what I am going to do.

“I am looking forward to being out on the field with my team next season playing the game that brings me so much happiness.”

I’ve always considered CC a stand up guy. Just goes to show that everyone has issues.  No one deserves to be judged or looked down upon for being human and making mistakes.  Especially not a life sentence.  I wonder if it’s just him having a hard time coming to the end of the road and losing his unique talents.  Anyway it’s none of any ones business.  I hope the details remain private.
